This is the 'front cover' of my Bionicle Fan Fiction: The Gate to the Great Beings, Part 1: The Gate.

Chapter 1
Part 2: 'Avoiding Destiny' Cover
The BIONICLE title and main story does NOT belong to me. I do not claim ANY of the original characters, plots, designs and storyline. They rightly belong to, and are trademarked towards the LEGO Company, and Greg Farshtey.
This add-on story, so titled 'Fan Fiction', is just that; ONLY a fan-based story. It is NOT in any way official, and I do not claim it to be.
However, the fanfiction itself; the island mentioned, the character pictured and fan-storyline belongs (©) to me. DO NOT duplicate any contents or directly copy this artwork. Contents are specifically copyrighted in each chapter accordingly, if it belongs to LEGO or myself.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Right, enough of all the 'officialities'. I make it sound so serious...XD
I really lost track of how many hours this took...I think the pencil work and inking took about 1 Hour or so. All of the digital colouring, effects, and titling took about.........*tries to remember*..........
Something around 10-11 hours.
My computer did its usual crashing, but I'm glad to report that on none of the stuff-ups did I lose any (or not very much) data. So that's an up-side. But I'm glad I got all this done.
The whole process was just torture, and the reason I did this was so that the chapters could be nicely presented in a much more decorative manner, rather than just with lines and lines of words. Besides, I think my previous pic of the character in the centre (name won't be mentioned as to not spoil it for new readers. :3) was a bit out-of-date, and wouldn't represent the whole 'book' that well.
So...ta-da! A Front Cover!!!
If I compare it with my old character pic, I have to say, I've whalopped in a bit of an improvement. XD The lightning bolts on the previous one looked just so disapointing...
The ones on here were horrendously hard to create, though; I tried something like three or four different techniques of colouring them in. And the one I ended up choosing...well, it ended up being the one that took the longest, and required the most detail.
I know that the light the bolts emit don't seem to be creating the same effect on the character's armor: her highlights are relatively weak in comparison to all of that chaos. That was done for a reason. If I had made it all bright and corresponding to the light, it wouldn't have a mysterious touch, would it?
The BIONICLE title is the actual official title, I just tweaked the light and colouration a little bit. The 'Gate' sub-title and 'Fan-fiction' was made from scratch.
Do please zoom in and take a closer look. Each one of those tendrils snaking out of the bolts was individually drawn: no automatic filters or functions were used to create that effect. (Which nearly was the death of me. )
And the first ones that can guess the symbolism behind the 'smoke', and/or the shape that the lightning bolts make, they get a digital cookie. :3 (First one's obvious, second one...not so much.)
Enough of my ramblings; enjoy what I have cooked up!
